Garibay sorting through schools

2008 four-star post player Edgar Garibay is off to a solid start this season with (5-2) Compton (Calif.) High School. With is recruitment still in the formative stage, Garibay, 6-foot-9, 215-pounds, recently traveled to Louisville for an unofficial visit.
"The visit was really cool," said Garibay. "I liked the facilities and the coaching staff. There were a lot of people at the game and a lot of excitement.

"The weather kind of got to me, though. I haven't seen anything like that, not in the 20's. But that is something I could get used to."
With offers from Louisville, California, Washington State, Arizona State, Arkansas and Clemson, Garibay provided this breakdown of his recruitment.
"Besides Louisville, I'm interested in Memphis, Cal and Washington State. Washington State has consistently watched my games and I really appreciate that.
"I'm also getting interest from the local schools- USC and UCLA. I haven't really heard from Georgetown, but I like their history of producing big men."
Looking to make a decision between the end of the high school season and the beginning of the travel team circuit, Garibay would like to get off the west coast for a couple more school visits.
"I'd like to visit Memphis and probably the local schools," he said. "I also would like to get out to Georgetown. I'm also thinking about visiting Cal and Washington State, and maybe also Arizona State."
Garibay, the No. 82 ranked prospect in the class of 2008, is averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds per game this season.
Edgar Garibay scouting report:
A skilled post player with a nice frame, Garibay is making strides in reaching his high potential. He catches the ball well and can both make the pass and shoot it with touch. Garibay's footwork in the post is solid, but he is not an explosive athlete.
