Garibay looking east

As a 6-foot-9, 215-pound center prospect in the class of 2008, Edgar Garibay has the eye of west coast schools. Garibay, from Compton High School in Los Angeles, Calif., however, is looking eastward at this point for his future school.
"Arizona has watched me play and USC and Washington have been calling about me," said Garibay. "I also know that Clemson is recruiting me.

"I'd really like to play in the ACC or the Big Ten more than stay on the west coast. The Pac-10 is good, don't get me wrong, but the east coast is where all the big boys are. I think the best competition for big men is in the east."
Garibay, who plays for the L.A. Stars on the AAU circuit, averaged 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season as a sophomore.
With a frame to put on more weight, Garibay has solid skills with the ball. He does have room to improve his foot speed and overall athleticism.
