Gardner trims all but the Bulldogs

Mississippi State is putting together one heck of a recruiting class. As an added bonus, they are doing with in-state kids. Friday afternoon, the Bulldogs landed their third in-state member of the Rivals150 when D.J. Gardner pulled the trigger during a press conference at his school.
A sharp-shooting 6-foot-6 wing from Okolona (Miss.) High, Gardner said during the press conference that his family's ability to watch him play during college played a key role.

"I chose Mississippi State because it was close enough so that my family can come see me play," Gardner said during the presser.
Gardner will join five-star wing Rodney Hood and four-star point guard Deville Smith at Mississippi State and said during the press conference that locals staying home played a big role in his decision.
In particular, Hood's choice to attend Mississippi State was huge.
"When I saw Rodney Hood go to Mississippi State with all of the big schools that he had," said Gardner. "I just decided to stay in Mississippi and play with Rodney."
