Galindo thinking about leaving KU

Alex Galindo, the 6-foot-6, 203 pound small forward from St. Benedict's Prep School in New Jersey is contemplating a transfer from the University of Kansas at the end of the semester. While Galindo has not yet made a final decision about his future, he and Coach Bill Self intend to have a decision made after the Final Four.
"I was notified this morning by a radio station that there was a rumor concerning Alex Galindo (transferring) and they asked me if there was any truth to the rumor," Self said. "The fact of the matter is Alex and I have visited about this and we are going to come to a definite answer when I get back from the Final Four.

"There is certainly a possibility that he could transfer and there is also a possibility that he could stay," he added. "He has been very open and upfront. We'll have an announcement one way or another early next week."
Galindo had originally signed with the University of Texas-El Paso, but decided to re-open his recruitment when Billy Gillespie left for Texas A&M. It's not yet known what schools, if any, Galindo is seriously considering at this time.
"Coach and I have met a couple of times since the season ended. We plan on meeting again once he gets back from the Final Four," Galindo said. "There is still a lot of stuff to think about and talk about when he gets from St. Louis."
