GA, Penn State, ND Involved With Carter Now

Word has spread across the country that Russell Carter is a pretty good basketball player. The Fighting Irish are rolling out the red carpet for this high-scoring shooting guard this weekend for an official visit. But there may be more competition ahead for the Irish.
"I have heard from Georgia and Penn State recently," Carter told RivalsHoops.com. "I am interested in talking to them. But first I have to take my visit to Notre Dame. I leave tomorrow for the visit."

Carter said he is also interested in William & Mary. "Both Notre Dame and William & Mary are great academic schools and have good basketball programs," Carter said. "So that's two positives."
Carter, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard from Paulsboro High School in Paulsboro, New Jersey (about 30 minutes from Philadelphia), is a guard who can score in bunches. He sat out last summer's AAU sessions due to an injury.
Carter, who averaged over 30 points a game and close to 12 rebounds, can flat out fill it up. Russell also sports fine academic credentials, carrying a 3.8 GPA and having scored 1140 on the SAT. "I will see what the other schools have to say before I make a decision," Carter said. "I won't turn away anyone who is interested in talking to me."
