Fresh starts for Staten

Just a few weeks ago, Wesley Staten backed off of his commitment to Iowa State. It wasn't the only change that the 6-foot-1 guard from the class of 2012 has made recently.
After starting his high school career at Sioux City (Iowa) West, Staten has moved on to Sioux City Heelan.

"I think it will be a good move for me," Staten told Rivals.com. "I think it will be good for basketball and I think I can get better prepared for school there."
As for his decision to part ways with Iowa State.
"I think I did it too early," said Staten. "I just wanted to take my time and look around."
Along with continued interest in and from the Cyclones, Staten says that he's hearing from Kansas, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Stanford, Illinois, Kansas State, Creighton and several others.
This summer Staten is hitting the road with Jake Sullivan's 16U Kingdom Hoops squad. He's planning visits to Kansas and Florida and is in no rush with his recruitment.
"I'm just taking my time. I don't have any favorites," finished Staten.
