Frericks Has D-1 Interest
Tom Frericks, a 6-9, 270 pound center from Chipola J.C. in Marianna, Fla., is getting a lot of attention this fall from Division I programs.
Frericks transferred into Chipola after spending two years at UAB. He sat out last year (2001-02) due to an injury, and he hopes to use this year at Chipola to improve his conditioning and show coaches that he still can be a factor at the Division I level.

Chipola Head Coach Ryan Cross said that he expects Frericks to sign late. Some of the schools looking at him this fall include Jacksonville, South Florida, Evansville, Valparaiso and Maine.
As a freshman in 2000-2001, Frericks appeared in 27 games for the Blazers, starting two. He averaged 2.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, logging 7.5 minutes per contest.
