Fraziers Play Ignites Recruiting Interest

He's just 6-foot-1, 180-pounds but Chester Frazier of Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore, Md. plays well above his height. In the Lakers' 60-50 win over Lansdowne High School in the Mayor's Cup Challenge at Morgan State University, Frazier had 11 rebounds to go along with 11 points.
Frazier, who previously played at Mervo Senior High School, used smart positioning and strength to gain an advantage over much bigger opponents. Down 26-25 at the half, Lake Clifton came out strong after the break as they grabbed a 42-30 lead when the third quarter.

"Coach (Herman Harried) told us at halftime that we weren't playing our type of defense," Frazier said. "After the break, we turned the defensive intensity up and that got us some transition baskets," Harried said.
Schools contacting Frazier include Drexel, Siena, Miami (Ohio), Manhattan and Binghamton.
Frazier also has excellent point guard skills. One play is indicative of his game. After a steal, he swiftly dribbled up court through Lansdowne's defense flipping a back pass to senior Donta Ridley for the layup. And he is working to improve his overall game. "I'm taking a lot of jump shots in practice each day," he said.
Frazier, like teammate Paris Carter, will be heading to the South Kent prep school in Connecticut which is coached by Raphael Chillious who last season was at West Nottingham Academy in Maryland.
