Frazier Looking to Raise His Stock

2005 prospect Chester Frazier has had a strong year running the point for Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore, Maryland. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Frazier is being strongly pursued by several mid-majors. If he has the summer he is hoping for, interest from the high majors that he likes should increase.
“As of now the schools that I’m most interested in are St. Joe’s, Temple, Syracuse, Boston College, and Georgetown,” said Frazier. “The schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Siena, Miami-Ohio, Kent State, and Manhattan. I hope after a good summer more schools will get involved.”

Here are Frazier’s thoughts on his top schools.
On St. Joe’s: "They’re having a lot of success. I like the way they let their guards play. Also, I think by the time I go to college they'll be needing a point guard."
On Temple: "I'd like to play for a coach like John Chaney. I love the way he teaches defensive intensity. I also like the success they had with Lynn Greer."
On Syracuse: "My coach Herman Harried played under Jim Boeheim alongside Billy Owens. He has told me a lot of good things about Coach Boeheim."
On Boston College: "I like the way they get up and down the floor. When I saw them play, I knew I could definitely play somewhere like that."
On Georgetown: "They’re a program that should be on the rise. I think I could fit in there. Plus they’re right down the road, and my family could come watch me play."
Frazier, who averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, specializes in running a team and distributing the ball, but he wants to continue to develop his jump shot and his strength.
"I think my biggest strength is penetrating and getting everybody involved,” he said. “I try to make everyone around me better. I feel that I'm a good leader out on the court."
"I do need to work on knocking down the open jumper, and I definitely need to continue to get stronger."
Frazier is in good shape academically with a 2.7 GPA and a 910 on the SAT.
