Fraser Cant Help Public Win

HUNTINGTON, NEW YORK -- Villanova bound center Jason Fraser scored seven points, blocked eight shots, and had eight assists in a little more than a half of play.
However, Fraser's effort could not hold off the Private schools of Long Island/New York 84-74 win over the Public schools at the fifth annual Metro Classic.

Villanova assistant coach Fred Hill was on hand to watch and support Fraser, who appeared to be favoring his left leg during most of the game. Fraser's high school coach, Jack Agostino of Amityville, was also on hand to watch Fraser play his last game as a high schooler.
St. Dominic center Brian Houlihan, who is headed to Harvard, was named the game's MVP. He had 13 points. St. John's bound senior Tim Doyle, a teammate of Houlihan at St. Dominic, also scored 13 points and had six assists. Doyle also had a pretty, spinning layup while avoiding the outstretched hand of Fraser during one offensive set.
Doyle and Fraser threw several pretty passes to open up some easy baskets for their teammates. Doyle and Fraser will meet again -- in the Big East next season. Fraser still remained consistent from his thoughts during McDonald's week -- it's Villanova first and then the NBA.
