Franklin picks up Big Ten offer

A number of programs are intrigued with hardworking forward Roger Franklin of perennial national power Duncanville (Texas) High School. And a recent college coaching change has landed Franklin a Big Ten scholarship offer.
"Two days after Coach Crean took the job at Indiana, he called my uncle and told him it was a job he couldn't turn down," said Franklin, 6-foot-6, 217-pounds. "A day later I talked to him, and he said I was the first guy he was looking at as the Indiana head coach.

"I've known Coach Crean and like him a lot. He had been recruiting me at Marquette. And with the great basketball tradition at Indiana, it puts them at the top of my list."
Keeping his options open, Franklin doesn't plan on trimming his list until the end of the summer. Along with Indiana, Marquette, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Baylor, Utah, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas Arlington and Texas are the schools Franklin listed. All but Texas, who just began recruiting Franklin, have offered according to Franklin.
Rivals.com will catch Franklin in action this weekend at the Boo Williams Invitational as he plays with Team Texas.
A top notch rebounder and inside scorer for his position, Franklin is making strides in his perimeter game.
