Foyes 29 Leads Eastside Past St. Benedicts

ELIZABETH, N.J. -- Randy Foye pumped in 29 points to lead Eastside H.S. to a 61-55 victory over St. Benedict's Prep on Thursday night at the Prime Time Shootout.
Eastside jumped out to an early lead, going up 36-23 at the halftime break.

It led 47-37 going into the fourth quarter, but St. Benedict's used a 13-4 run to pull within 51-50 with 3:48 to play on a basket by Artie Bowers.
The Gray Bees pulled to within a point three times in the final three minutes and change, but never could take the lead.
After a lay-in by Bashir Mason pulled St. Benedict's to within 56-55, Eastisde ended the game on a 5-0 run, punctuated by a Foye dunk with 2.5 seconds left.
Pierre Mitchell added 19 points, but it was the Villanova-bound Foye who stole the show with a terrific display of scoring and passing. In addition to his 29 points, he also collected seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks on the evening.
Stanley Branch, team MVP for St. Benedict's, scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss. James Mathis added 14 points while Bowers was limited to just eight points in a subpar performance.
