Eric Fowlkes, a 6-4, 190 pound sophomore swingman from Colby C.C. in Colby, Kan., has several Division I programs looking at him this winter.
Rivalshoops.com has seen Fowlkes play since his high school days in Milwaukee, Wis. Always an explosive athlete, Fowlkes has been working on honing his shot and handle the past two years at Colby.
One thing Fowlkes has always been able to do is finish around the tin, thanks in large part to his outstanding springs.
Through 14 games this season, all but one starts, Fowlkes is averaging 9.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He's shooting 53.5 percent from the field, 42.9% from behind the arc and 71.4% from the charity stripe. And he has a 1.77 assist/turnover ratio. Fowlkes was second on the team with 82 assists, a 2.7 average, as a freshman.
Fowlkes prepped at Bay View High School where he averaged 21.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.5 steals per game while shooting 52% from the floor as a senior.
According to Colby Head Coach Brian Ostermann, Fowlkes is being courted this winter by Denver, North Texas, Evansville and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Rivalshoops.com will stay on top of Fowlkes' recruitment in the weeks to come as the spring signing period approaches, so stay tuned.
