Four-star wing Marcus Watson recaps recent visits

After a great summer with the Georgia Stars, Marcus Watson had plenty of scholarship offers thrown his way. In the last month, he’s started to reciprocate the interest from college programs by getting on the road for some unofficial visits.

Georgia, Oregon and Tennessee were the first three schools to get the four-star wing originally from North Carolina on campus. He’ll head up to NC State this weekend and plans to see Florida at some point in December. Michigan, Missouri, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and many more have stopped by his school in the past few weeks.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Watson talked about his recent visits and his upcoming trip to Raleigh.

Georgia: “It went well. I went to the football game and saw the business school. They’ve talked to me about how I could play as a freshman because they would be losing guys at my position and how their system fits me.”

NC State: “I like the school. It’s always been a dream school of mine along with Carolina. I don’t know much about their new coaches, but I’ll be watching them this season.”

Oregon: “It was nice. I liked it. I had talked to Coach Altman before, but that was my first time meeting him face to face.”

Tennessee: “I like coach Des Oliver. He’s a cool guy. I like coach (Rick) Barnes. I like their coaching style and how they would develop my game.”

RIVALS' REACTION

Watson is doing his homework on all the schools recruiting him by getting on as many campuses as he can. He’s a long ways from making a decision as he’s aiming to commit around this time next year. Georgia, Oregon and Tennessee have all built up strong relationships with Watson already. NC State has a special place with him having grown up in North Carolina. If Wake Forest or North Carolina get involved, those two could completely shake up his recruitment.
