The flood of talented Australian prospects pouring into American high schools and Division One college programs has become a steady one. Four-star sophomore shooting guard Josh Green is hoping that he can continue the trend.

While the 6-foot-5 two guard at Phoenix (Ariz.) Hillcrest isn't yet on the level of a Ben Simmons or a Thon Maker, the native of Sydney, Australia has been proving himself as a legitimate high major prospect and is making waves in the States.

According to Green, young Australian prospects are seeing that it's beneficial to get to the States earlier in the recruiting process.

"Everybody knows that America is the place to be if you want to play basketball and a lot of kids are trying to get over here now, especially for college opportunities," Green told Rivals.com. "I think they find if they can get here earlier and be on a stage it can be easier to get (college) attention."

Green has certainly been able to get on that stage. He plays with the nation's No. 1 senior DeAndre Ayton at Hillcrest, and in the summer he will run with Earl Watson Elite on the Under Armour Association circuit. He says it's exposure that he couldn't get back at home.

So far, Green has landed offers from TCU, UNLV (where his brother Jay Green signed as a 2017 recruit), California, UT Martin, Utah State, Prairie View A&M and San Francisco.

"I can get the ball to the open man," said Green. "When I'm feeling it I can hit the open shot and I can get the ball down the floor and move the ball to my teammates.

"I want to try and be more versatile, maybe play the point some. I'm really working on my ball handling."

Green is looking forward to seeing who else shows interest and continuing to showcase his game. He said that UNLV is trying to get him to eventually join his brother in Vegas but he's not near decision making mode.

"I'm not really to into (recruiting) right now," said Green. "My brother just committed to UNLV but I'm taking my time."
