Four-star Reid Ducharme hearing from regional powers
Reid Ducharme is the No. 98 prospect in the 2023 Rivals150. The Wolfeboro (N.H.) shooting guard averaged 11.5 points and shot 42.9-percent from three at the National Prep Showcase last week. Ducharme played with the BABC program on the EYBL 17u circuit this summer. His recruitment has carried a steady northeast flavor.
“I have been hearing from Syracuse and Providence a lot,” Ducharme said. “Also, a lot of the Ivy League schools have been on me heavy. I have taken a couple of visits to Providence; that’s about it, really. I am focused on basketball right now and winning a championship here.”

Syracuse: “Historically, it is a great program. Coach Gerry McNamara has been talking with me a lot. I love his energy; we both play(ed) with that dog mentality. I went to the Syracuse came before the season, and that is when they offered me.”
Providence: “I talk with coach (Ed) Cooley some, but I have been talking with coach (Brian) Blaney a lot. I have been able to go to a few practices there, at the Dunk Center; I really love how they play.”

WHAT'S NEXT?
“I feel like Penn State may be close,” Ducharme said. “Right now, I am really focused on winning this national championship. I am a junior; there is time for me. I want to go to a place where I can be developed as a player. I want to be close to the staff. Family is super important to me. Really, a team that is going to work really hard and stay together.”

RIVALS' REACTION
Ducharme has good positional size and plays with a toughness and confidence. He is a shooter; you notice that immediately, but he showed an ability to attack closeouts and finish around the basket in New Haven. There will be questions about his lateral athleticism, but he is a tough-minded, high-IQ team defender. Positional size is legit, and he brings real value shooting the ball.
