Late in the summer, Tony Bennett and Virginia made a big move on four-star forward DeAndre Hunter.
During an official visit, the 6-foot-7 forward from Wynnewood (Pa.) Friends Center who ranks No. 67 in the class of 2016 decided that he had seen enough.
Via Twitter, Hunter confirmed what sources had indicated to Rivals.com and announced that he has committed to Virginia.
Capable of playing as a big small forward or a smaller four man who can help spread defenses, Hunter's game is built on his skill on the offensive end. He's a tough as nails kid who loves to bury 12-17 foot jumpers, works hard on the glass and is a fabulous passer out of the high post.
Hunter probably wouldn't be classified as a high flyer, but he is a sneaky athlete who does a great job of using fakes and changing speeds within the flow of the offense.
A member of the Philly Pride summer program, Hunter is the fourth player in the class of 2016 to pick the Cavaliers. They are done recruiting and have put together a pretty formidable class.
Hunter joins four-star guards Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome along with three-star power forward Jay Huff. It should also be noted that four-star Mamadi Diakite who initially committed as a member of the 2016 class chose to enroll early and will redshirt this season. Also redshirting this season is former Rivals.com five-star prospect Austin Nichols who transferred from Memphis.
