Four-star P.J. Fuller adds two big offers

EMERSON, Ga. – Four-star guard P.J. Fuller has begun to see scholarship offers pile up as his recruitment begins to progress. The two most recent programs to enter the mix for the No. 59-ranked prospect in the 2019 Rivals150 are Oregon State and Florida State.

“Those two," Fuller said, "were big for me.”

Fuller spoke further on his latest offers and also gave insight on the recent coaching change at Washington and his relationship with Lorenzo Romar.

Florida State: “I really like that they are in the ACC. I like their playing style a lot. I have always known about Florida State and watched them and said, 'Wow, they are good. That is a team that I could potentially play for.' They are really good and they did a really good job with Dwayne Bacon. I really like his game. Then you have Jonathon Isaac, who is like a baby Kevin Durant.

“Coach Leonard Hamilton is a really good guy who seems to know what he is doing. He is really into it. It feels like it is family there with a lot of good people.”

Oregon State: “I went on a visit to their school and I met all of the coaches, who I really liked. The campus is really nice.”

Washington: “I met coach (Mike) Hopkins. He is a really good guy and really enthusiastic. He seems that he knows what he is doing. It is different of course with not having Romar there. He has been practically coaching since I have been alive. It is just different. But Coach Hop is just a really good guy and I am hoping that he can turn the team around and see what he can do.”

Arizona (on the hiring of Romar as an assistant): “It gives them a much better chance with me if they were to offer me a scholarship. Me and Romar have a really good relationship. He was one of those coaches, for sure, that was like, whenever you are around him, it feels like family. I liked Arizona prior to him being on staff there so it should be interesting.”

WHAT'S NEXT

Fuller is not expected to make a commitment in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, look for him to finish out the summer on the Nike EYBL circuit and as one of the go-to scoring options on his Seattle Rotary travel club.

RIVALS' REACTION

It has always been difficult for schools to reach into the city of Seattle and pull out high-profile prospects. The University of Washington has done a phenomenal job of keeping the best at home but, if Arizona were to offer, things could change with Fuller. He seems very intrigued by Romar now being on staff in Tucson. Furthermore, Florida State looks to be the dark horse in Fuller's recruitment, despite being located 3,000 miles away from his home.
