Four-star Mitchell discusses Clemson, Florida, FSU, Ohio State

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Sitting among the top 50 in the 2019 rankings, sophomore forward Jordan Mitchell has the talent to become a priority, high-major prospect in the coming years. Mitchell was born in Memphis and later moved to Columbus, Ohio. He will attend Montverde Academy in Florida this fall, which could create for a national recruitment for the four-star prospect.

Running with the All-Ohio Red 17-under team this spring and summer on the Nike EYBL circuit, Mitchell is one of the youngest competitors in the league. He can create his own shot and defend various positions. He told Rivals.com that Florida State and Clemson "are making a push.” He holds offers form Iowa, Xavier, Florida and Ohio State.

Florida State: “I watch them on TV and they let their long guys play the wing like Jonathan Isaac. So, that would be a good fit.”

Clemson: “They play really hard. They’re gritty. They play really good defense.”

Florida: “I watched them a lot in the tournament. I really like the way that they play and let their guys run the floor and play free.”

Ohio State: “I have been hearing a lot from them, too. They are right around from my house. I have been up there a lot.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

Look for Mitchell to gather more offers this summer. He will finish his junior summer on the Nike circuit with the All-Ohio Red 17-under team playing with a pair of Michigan State commits and another headed to Ohio State next fall.

RIVALS’ REACTION

Mitchell is due to see his recruitment pick up steam playing a year on the Nike circuit. Ohio State, Xavier and Iowa will do their best to remain in the mix while Florida and Florida State could become potential landing spots for the talented sophomore, thanks to his future residency within the Sunshine State.
