Four-star Lawrence beginning to map out official visit plans

Kimani Lawrence

Kimani Lawrence played on a stacked Expressions Elite team this travel season, and had a ton of success along the way. He’s currently ranked as the No. 46 prospect in the 2017 Rivals150 and has programs all over the country chasing him.

Texas, USC, Pittsburgh, Arizona State, Marquette, Wake Forest and Florida are the schools Lawrence says are most involved in his recruitment.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

USC: “I like their coaching staff a lot. We have a really good relationship. I like their style of play. I think it fits me. I like the weather out there too.”

Texas: “It’s really the same thing. Me and coach (Shaka) Smart, we have a really good relationship. He’s doing most of the recruitment and that means a lot.”

Pittsburgh: “We talk a lot. We talk probably the most frequently of any of the schools. They explained their roster situation to me and it looks like it would be a good fit for me.”

Florida: “I talk to the head coach a lot. He’s real cool. He’s doing most of the recruiting for me.”

WHAT'S NEXT

Lawrence plans to take his official visits throughout August and September in hopes of being committed by the first week of October if possible. Look for USC, Texas and Pittsburgh to be three of the schools that receive official visits from the four-star prospect.

RIVALS' REACTION

From talking to Lawrence, it seemed pretty clear that Pittsburgh, Texas and USC are the schools hitting him the hardest in his recruitment. Beyond that, it’s hard to get a great feel for which way he’s leaning. As with any recruitment, visits will play a big part in deciding where he ends up at the next level.
