One of the best scorers in the Midwest, four-star junior shooting guard Torrence Watson of St. Louis (Mo.) Winfield is emerging as a priority recruit for many regional programs.

Averaging just under 28 points per game on the season, Watson has earned offers from Creighton, Kansas State, Missouri, Butler, Marquette, Iowa State, DePaul, Saint Louis, West Virginia and others.

Among the campuses he's seen are Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa State, Creighton and Butler.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Watson broke down his improvement as a junior and what he's learned on visits to Kansas State, Butler and Creighton.

"Offensively I've been working on scoring at all three levels. I'm just working on moves and everything. I'm definitely happy with the progress, especially with how I'm shooting the jumper from this year to last year with more consistency in the game."

Kansas State: "I liked the atmosphere and it showed a lot. It was break, so the students weren't really there, but it was still a live gym."

Creighton: "I have a pretty good relationship with them. I talk to assistant coach (Steve) Lutz pretty much every day and then I talk to coach (Greg) McDermott about weekly. I feel like I've formed a good relationship with them."

Butler: "I visited there before the season as well. It's a good feeling because I actually ended up eating with all the coaches and it was more getting to know them than like a regular recruiting trip."

WHAT'S NEXT?

Watson told Rivals.com that he would like to cut his list down sometime in the next month. He doesn't have a set number, but the hope is that he will get it down to a final group of five. Though he would like to get his list cut down soon, Watson said that he doesn't have any plans to make a decision until he can get some official visits under his belt.

RIVALS' REACTION

Kansas State was the first high major program to offer Watson and assistant coach Chris Lowery's early work has the Wildcats in there deep. Creighton and Butler also appear to be positioning themselves well and you certainly have to keep an eye on hometown SLU with what Travis Ford has been doing on the recruiting trail.
