Four-star Hunter hearing from several Big Ten, Big East teams

It would be hard to find a prospect that has been much busier in recent months than four-star shooting guard Eric Hunter. He’s had a quite a bit of attention coming in from college after a big travel season and decided to take a tour of several Big Ten and Big East schools.

He’s taken trips to Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Purdue out of the Big Ten along with trips to Creighton, Butler and Xavier out of the Big East. He’s also had Minnesota stop by his school to see him recently.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Hunter broke down all the schools he’s seen since the summer.

Butler: “I definitely like Butler. I have a good relationship with the coaches and coach (Chris) Holtman. They like that I can play and defend both guard positions. I have an opportunity to come right in and play there.”

Creighton: “I like coach (Greg) McDermott. I haven’t watched them play much. I just watched them practice when I was up there for the first day of practice.”

Xavier: “They said they are trying to get guards that are bigger and can play both guard spots. They already have it with Edmond Sumner, so I can already see how I would fit in there.”

Indiana: “I definitely like the way they play because they play position-less. Watching them work out, everybody is doing the same workout because he wants everybody being aggressive and getting better with their shot.”

Michigan: “They are looking for a scorer in my class. They like the way I score the ball. I like coach (John) Beilein a lot. He’s a good guy.”

Nebraska: “Coach (Tim) Miles is a good guy. He told me he would give me the keys to the car. Coach (Michael) Lewis has been recruiting me since he was at Butler.”

Purdue: “I like going up to Purdue. They are looking for another guard like E’Twaun Moore was, a scoring guard.”

RIVALS' REACTION

After making several trips throughout the past few months, Hunter said one school stood out above the rest: Nebraska.

“I definitely think Nebraska stood out the most because it’s ridiculous out there.”

Hunter said he’s still open to all schools though and won’t be committing any time soon.
