Kira Lewis has become a popular target in the 2019 class for schools in the Southeast with his play this past summer. In the past month since college coaches could get back on the road, he’s had Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, LSU, Georgia Tech, Dayton, Oklahoma State and others stop by his school to check in on him.

The four-star scoring guard has reciprocated the interest by sneaking in a few visits of his own. Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Georgia Tech and Tennessee have each had the No. 100 prospect in the 2019 Rivals150 on campus in the past couple months.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Alabama: “Everything went well there. They are doing a good job bringing in big- time recruits. They should have a great year this year. They have big expectations.”

Auburn: “They’ve got big-time recruits coming in, too. Even though they have had a setback, they still should be pretty good. It should be fun to see them this year.”

Tennessee: “I really haven’t had a chance to see their team play, but from talking to their coaching staff they should have a great year. I’ve been talking to Rick Barnes and Michael Schwartz.”

Baylor: “Baylor is a good team. They are always on TV and always in the middle of everything. Coach (Scott) Drew is a great coach and he’s put a lot of guys in the pros. They are always making a run in the tournament.”

Georgia Tech: “They actually surprised me last year because they won some big-time games that I didn’t expect them to win. I’m really looking forward to seeing them this year. Coach (Josh) Pastner talks about what I could do if I go there and what they could do for me.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Lewis will stay active in getting out to see the schools involved in his recruitment. Up next on his list are Dayton and LSU. You can also bet that he’ll circle back around to some of the schools he’s already seen. Right now, his plan is to commit to a school during his senior year and sign during the early signing period. He’s not ready to put out a list of top schools just yet.
