It’s quite possible Nassir Little, the No. 28 player in the 2018 class, is the most heavily recruited player in the class. Little rattled off a list that included Arizona, Oregon, Arizona State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Kansas and USC following 1 Family’s first game at the On the Radar Hoops Super 6 event.

Of those schools, Arizona, Florida State and Georgia Tech had head coaches in the gym watching as did St. John’s, a school Little visited during June. Duke and North Carolina had assistants watching as well.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Arizona: “They tell me I’m there No. 1 guy. (Coach Sean Miller) said he wants it to be known he’s coming to all of my games. They see me as a Stanley Johnson-type player except I can shoot it a little better.”

Florida: “They’ve been on me since I was young, like 15 years old when I got my offer from them. They’ve been consistent as well. They are 45 minutes from my hometown, so it’s like a hometown hero type thing.”

Georgia Tech: “I like them a lot. They’ve been probably the most consistent school. They haven’t ever backed off at all. I have a close relationship with coach (Darryl) LaBarrie and coach (Josh) Pastner, so it’s good.”

Kansas: “That’s a big-time program. They put guys in the league, and that’s something I look at as well. They are always successful year in and year out. They have a lot of guys at my position that have moved on to the NBA.”

Miami: “I had an unofficial visit and they went all out. They really did a good job. They showed me my comparison to other guys with my shooting percentages against guys like Jaylen Brown and Brandon Ingram, and mine was higher.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

The first school to lock in an official visit with Little is Georgia Tech. He makes the trip to Atlanta on Aug. 26. Aside from that visit, he doesn’t have any planned right now. He’s waiting to see which schools come in before the end of the month. He’s also waiting to decide if he’s going to use a visit on the in-state schools given that they aren’t far away and could do unofficial trips. He says he’s likely to wait until the late signing period before deciding.

RIVALS’ REACTION

It’s hard to beat Miller and the Arizona Wildcats on the recruiting trail when they have locked in on a player, and Miller has been a regular at Little’s games lately. However, Georgia Tech securing the first official visit says a lot about where the Yellow Jackets stand in this one. Don’t count out the Florida Gators though as he does appear to be buying into the idea of staying close to home.
