The decision is in for four-star forward Jaedon LeDee and now Ohio State has their first from the class of 2018.

A well built forward from Texas, many had figured that LeDee would ultimately stay close to home. However, Chris Holtmann and his staff won over LeDee and a key family member allowing him to pull the trigger on a commit to the Buckeyes.

“Really they kind of had the combination of everything I’m looking for on the basketball side and the academic side with the connections that they have," LeDee told Rivals.com. "My mom really liked it and she wasn’t really fond of me going away away for school. I knew since she was ok with it that was a good look.

“The coaches are down to Earth. They won’t lie and they are stand up guys who will tell you how it is. They are good people, great people.”

A high scoring player on the high school level and a productive rebounder and scorer in the summer for Marland Lowe's Texas Pro program, LeDee is a well built kid who wants to make an instant impact.

“I want to come in and have an impact role right off the bat," said LeDee. "They have some great guys there. I hung out with the team and they have great guys. I want to use my versatility and do what I can do to help win.”

Capable of playing near the rim and some out in space, LeDee envisions himself as a bit of a combo forward whose role can develop over his career. That vision is one that Holtmann and his staff are in sync with.

“Me and the coaches talked about it and they see me playing the four/three and the three/four depending on the matchups," said LeDee. "I’m going to keep working on both inside and outside facets of the game so I can continue to get better.

"If I keep growing then I can become more of a true inside player or if I stay the same size I can continue to be like I am now."
