Four-star Elias King recaps summer visits to ACC and SEC programs

Elias King, a four-star wing in the 2019 class, is quickly becoming a hot commodity in the recruiting game. A strong sophomore year at Huntington Prep (W.Va.) followed by a productive travel season with AOT has helped see programs such as Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, NC State, Miami, Kansas, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech and USC become involved in his recruitment.

Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and NC State all had the 6-foot-6 sharp shooter on campus this summer for unofficial visits.

King recently decided to transfer back to Shiloh High School in Georgia where he started his high school career.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

King talked about the schools he saw on his visit tour this summer.

Auburn: “Bruce Pearl, he’s a great coach. He lets you go and lets you play your game.”

Georgia: “I liked Georgia a lot. They let me know how they would play me in the offense and how I could play the point as well as the ‘2’ and ‘3’. Coach (Mark) Fox, he’s a great coach. I like the way they buy in as a team. Everybody on the team there is treated the same way.”

Georgia Tech: “It went well. They were telling me things I could add to my game to become a great basketball player. They talked about how they would play me if I went there. Coach (Josh) Pastner is a great coach to play for because he’ll let you play your game, but you do have to play his game as well and play defense and buying in on a lot of things.”

Louisville: “It went great there too. I did enjoy my visit there. They were just telling me what they expect from incoming freshmen and what I would need to do to get on the floor there.”

NC State: “They let you play there too. Coach (Kevin) Keatts saw me playing at their team camp and that’s when he started recruiting me.”

RIVALS' REACTION

It will be interesting to see how his move back to Georgia impacts King’s recruitment. He says part of the reason he left Huntington Prep to come home was being home sick, so that could work in Georgia and Georgia Tech’s favor down the road. King also mentioned Virginia Tech and USC as schools he’s in heavy contact with. Look for a decision towards the end of his junior year of high school.
