Dennis, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound shooting guard from North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland High School, chose Memphis over a host of schools including Baylor, Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA.
Dennis is the first Memphis commitment in the 2009 class. The NCAA runner ups enter next season with the No. 4 ranked 2008 recruiting class.
Dennis, who is the No. 44 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, will participate in the Lebron James Skills Academy next week.
Nolan Dennis scouting report:
A sleek all purpose guard, Dennis has a feel for the game and skill level that makes him one of the more intriguing guard prospects in the class. Capable of playing all three perimeter positions, Dennis is at his best making plays off the dribble. He has room to improve the consistency of his outside shot and he does need to gain weight.
