Kobe Brown has been on the radar of programs throughout the southeast for quite some time now. He’s been a star on his high school team since his freshman year, and only continues to get better. Despite playing a tough schedule to start his junior year, the 6-foot-6 versatile forward is averaging 25 point per game as we near the turn of the year.

On the recruiting side, Brown is still being recruited by several top programs. Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia and Clemson are the schools he says he talks with most regularly. He’s recently been on campus at Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville and Vanderbilt.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Brown talked about his interest in some of the schools recruiting him hardest.

Auburn: “They are still recruiting me hard. They were one of the main schools who started recruiting me early. They have a great coaching staff. I like them a lot.”

Clemson: “I liked their campus a lot. It’s really pretty. I went up there for a football game when it rained a lot against Georgia Tech. It was fun.”

Georgia: “I like their program a lot. My AAU coach [Jarvis Hayes] used to play there and is one of their all-time leading scorers. I took a visit up there last summer and I liked it a lot.”

Oklahoma: “I love their program. It’s very family-oriented just like Clemson where everyone gets along with each other and looks out for each other.”

RIVALS' REACTION

Brown has been pretty active throughout the recruiting process in getting out to see the schools recruiting him. He’s collected a lot of information on each of the schools, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make a decision relatively early. Auburn under Bruce Pearl did a great job of building up his interest in the Tigers early in the process. Clemson came in recently, but has made a strong impression in a hurry. Georgia has an advantage in that his travel coach has a twin brother on the coaching staff [Jonas Hayes]. Oklahoma has picked their spots in the southeast over the years and is certainly capable of pulling Brown out to Norman for college.
