FORT MYERS, Fla. – Four-star Isaac Okoro has become the top name of the super talented and nationally ranked McEachern High program this winter. A 6-foot-5 wing who defines winning traits, Okoro has seen four programs emerge in his recruitment.
Valued greatly for his defensive qualities but also an underrated passer, Okoro talked about the next step.
“It has been more about controlling the ball and working on my shooting; just the little stuff,” he said.
IN HIS OWN WORDS
Okoro spoke on the four programs standing out right now in his recruitment.
Florida State: “The coaches, they really get into you. They know how to communicate with you and be there with you.”
NC State: “I like the organization. I went to watch one of their practices and everybody is talking; a lot of movement and a lot of communication. I really like the fan base, too.”
Auburn: “They haven’t been in contact with me for a few weeks and I haven’t been there in a while since we are so focused on the season, but toward the end of the season, I want to get back down there.”
Rutgers: “They have been to so many of my practices. I went to visit them once, but I want to get up there again soon.”
RIVALS' REACTION
A super competitive and versatile wing with a college-ready frame, Okoro is a winner who should seamlessly transition to a high-major program and immediately help.
Auburn was the perceived favorite for Okoro during the summer, but with recent upheaval at the program in light of the FBI investigation, others have gained greater traction. Florida State, NC State and Rutgers are schools to keep tabs on when Okoro announces his college decision.
