Four Offers and One Favorite for Niles

Pierre Niles, the No. 11 ranked player in the class of 2006, helped carry Memphis YOMCA to the semifinals of the 17-under Gold Division. The powerful, 6-foot-7, 230-pound combo forward has four offers out of his top eight schools, and one of those offers is from his favorite school.
“I like Duke, Memphis, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Marquette, Cincinnati, and Louisville,” said Niles. “I have offers from Memphis, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, and Louisville.”

Right now his hometown school is his favorite.
“Memphis is my favorite,” he said. “I would be able to be close to home and be by my family.”
Niles has such value as a prospect because he is a true combo forward, not a tweener who is stuck between two positions. He has the size and power to play around the basket, and he has the skill and mobility to play on the perimeter. His challenge for improving his game will be keeping off the weight to maintain his quickness and to continuing to improve his skills with the ball.
Although Memphis YOMCA is a Nike sponsored team, Niles said he plans on attending the Reebok ABCD Camp.
