Vierneisel told RivalsHoops.com that he has been offered scholarships by California and Wisconsin. He took an official visit to California last month, and said he is also hearing from Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Illinois.
Being an Illinois native, Vierneisel has had the chance to take in games at both Illinois and Notre Dame over the past year. He said he plans on making a decision by the fall and signing in November.
Vierneisel has excellent passing and good rebounding skills. He's got a very nice midrange game from the perimeter and showed that he can create off the dribble at the Nike MDC.
Vierneisel averaged 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game this past season at Algonquin. He said he has a 3.2 GPA and scored a 26 on the ACT.
A busy slate of events for Vierneisel will include summer stops at the Nike All-American Camp, the Nike Peach Jam Tournament, the AAU Super Showcase and the Tietze Tournament in Kansas.
