Fortson fielding phone calls

After a highly successful weekend at the Real Deal on the Hill where he led the Southeast Elite to the semifinals of the championship bracket, Courtney Fortson has been busy fielding phone calls from various coaching staffs.
Head coaches Mike Anderson of Missouri and Tubby Smith of Minnesota contacted Fortson, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound point guard from Montgomery (Ala.) Jefferson Davis High School. He also received calls from assistants at Tennessee, North Carolina and Kansas.

"They said they were going to recruit me hard and keep up with what I'm doing this summer," said Fortson. "I don't have a leader or anything right now and probably won't know who my top schools are until the end of the summer. Right now my focus is getting my test score."
The winner of Alabama's Mr. Basketball award, Fortson will take a fifth year of prep school at The Patterson (N.C.) School next year to improve his college prep test score.
Fortson will have the opportunity to meet some coaches face to face this week as Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida State are all slated to visit his school according to Southeast Elite coach Norm Williams.
Courtney Fortson scouting report:
Undersized but a dynamic player, Fortson is an excellent competitor who defends and rebounds. Offensively, the lefty is fast with the ball and can finish at the rim. He shoots it well off the dribble, but does have room to improve the consistency of his outside jumper.
