Fordham Recruiting

Fordham signed three players this spring including a combo guard who appeared headed to Drake University. That was Jermaine Anderson, a 6-2, 180 pound point/combo guard from Eastern Commerce H.S. in Toronto, Ontario. In early March, Eastern Commerce Head Coach Jonathan Smith told reporter Russ Blake that Anderson was headed to Drake.
The Rams signed another Canadian in Mani Messy, a 6-7, 210 pound power forward who attened St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, NJ this past year. Messy, who is originally from Cameroon, currently lives in Ottawa, Canada. He played the previous season at the Winchendon School in Massachusetts. Other schools that had been recruiting him included New Mexico, UMass and Arkansas.

The third signee is also an international player. He is Drew Williamson, a 6-4 combo guard from Thornleigh, Australia. Williamson played for the Australian Under 20 National Team last year, leading the team to a silver medal. He also helped the NSW Institute of Sports to a gold medal at the Australian Open Schoolboy Championships.
These three players join John Blackgrove, a 6-2 shooting guard from The Winchedon School who signed in the fall and enrolled at Fordham for the sping 2002 semester.
