Fordham Recruit Headed To Prep School

Mani (Emmanuel) Messy, a 6-7, 210 pound forward who attended St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark last year and who signed a National Letter of Intent with Fordham during the spring signing period, is headed to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire next season. He had been working on raising his SAT score the last few months. He got it to 810, just 10 points off the minimum 820 needed under current NCAA rules.
Messy played at The Winchendon School in Massachusetts during his junior season where he averaged 12 points and seven rebounds. A stress fracture in his foot kept him out of action last season. He's currently in a walking boot and is expected to get an OK to resume playing following a doctor's examination next month.

Messy is originally from Cameroon and now resides in Ottawa, Ontario. He is blessed with a good basketball body. He is effective around the basket because of his athleticism.
Other schools that had pursued Messy included New Mexico, UMass, Rutgers, East Carolina, LSU and Arkansas. It's likely that he will reopen his recruiting.
