Fordham finds strength in numbers

Fordham apparently likes to double dip. The Rams secured a pair of commitments from the same school over the summer and during the early signing period, the Atlantic 10 school went with the same recruiting plan for a pair of big men.
Lamar Thomas and Khiry Gordon, teammates at Solebury High School in Pottsdam, Pa., both signed with Fordham last week.

Thomas, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound center, and Gordon, a 6-foot-7, 195-pound combo forward, join St. Anthony (N.J.) teammates Jio Fontan and Alberto Estwick in the 2008 recruiting haul for Fordham.
According to Solebury head coach Cleve Christie, the duo has a chance to do good things for the Rams.
"Both kids have the potential to have success at Fordham. The opportunity to play together was one of the things that made this so appealing. They have a connection, attachment on the court," Christie told Rivals.com.
Christie said Gordon has unlimited potential and his athleticism will be used right away.
"He jumps out of the gym. He's a good passer and gets to the basket. He works extremely hard on his game," Christie said. "With Coach (Derek) Whittenberg I think he can be an All League Player within two years."
Thomas, a back to the basket player, will be used right away inside the paint.
"He's a hard worker," Christie said. "He has developed very well in our program. Fordham is a place he can continue to develop."
