Ford down to three finalists

Folsom (Calif.) point guard Jordan Ford came out of July with several scholarship offers from programs on the West Coast, but he decided to cut his list to just three schools.
"I've narrowed it down to my top three. It's Oregon State, Saint Mary's and UCSB," Ford told Rivals.com.

Ford completed his first official visit to UC-Santa Barbara and will be taking his next visit to Saint Mary's later this month. He's yet to set up an official to Oregon State, but plans to do that soon. The Rivals150 prospect has already seen each school on unofficial visits.
Oregon State's Pac-12 affiliation gives it an advantage.
"What stands out about them is definitely the conference," Ford said. "That's a big-time conference. They are rebuilding there. I really like the coaching staff and I feel like they fit my playing style. Coach (Wayne) Tinkle and Coach (Gregg) Gottlieb are great people."
Ford's position has had a lot of success at Saint Mary's under Randy Bennett.
"The point guard play there has been phenomenal lately with Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova," he said. "They definitely help their guys become pros. It's just a good fit for me because it's a point guard-friendly offense. I feel like I'd be able to play there."
UCSB also has an advantage of its own in the attempt to sign Ford.
"It's just a good fit," he said. "I feel like I'd be able to make an impact right away. They have a great coaching staff. They have a phenomenal campus. My parents actually went to UCSB, but that doesn't have any impact on me."
Ford thinks he will make a decision in late September.
