Forbes Stock Goes Sky High

BRONX, NEW YORK -- Gary Forbes, a 6-6, 190-pound junior WG/WF from Benjamin Banneker Academy in Brooklyn, New York and Riverside Church, has attracted some high major interest of late.
Forbes, one of the sleepers on the New York City hoops circuit, told RivalsHoops.com that Georgia Tech, UMass, and Boston University have all offered.

Other schools who have expressed interest include North Carolina, UConn, Syracuse, and Penn. Forbes will take an unofficial visit to UMass next weekend. He plans on taking an unofficial trip to Georgia Tech the week before the sneaker camps. The ACC program has
expressed sustained interest.
Forbes chipped in 11 points in the Church's 88-58 win over the Westchester Hawks on the opening day of the Rumble in the Bronx. But Forbes was brilliant for most of the tournament. He helped the Riverside program win the Rumble in the Bronx.
While Gary could not find his stroke from deep on this night, he contributed to the win in other ways. A number of times Forbes drew the defense up with dribble penetration only to shovel a pass to an open teammate. Gary was active on the glass and offered up a solid defensive showing.
Forbes has not yet decided which sneaker camp he will attend, having been invited to both. Gary looks to have sprouted up a bit since we last saw him. We expect Forbes' stock to continue to rise over the course of the summer as word of his talents get out.
Expect more major programs to come a callin'.
