Forbes Ready To Announce

Sometime tomorrow afternoon Gary Forbes, the outstanding 6-6 swingman from Benjamin Banneker H.S. in Brooklyn, N.Y., will announce for either Georgia Tech or Virginia at a 2:30 PM ET press conference. All of our sources close to Forbes tell us that the talented offensive player from New York City is leaning heavily to Virginia over Georgia Tech. Forbes hasn't made this official yet but it's likely he will at least tell the programs tonight or tomorrow morning of his plans. The Cavaliers are likely to be smiling tomorrow.
Previously, Forbes had praised his visit to Virginia. "Virginia is a great school," Forbes told Russ Blake last night. "But I need to say some prayers and discuss my decision with my parents."

Our sources say Forbes was impressed with Gillen's outlook Then Forbes had a very good visit to Charlottesville.
Forbes previously had some interest in UConn, Cincinnati and Mississippi State. RivalsHoops.com's number 52 player in the class of 2003 averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and one steal per game last season at Banneker.
