Football Player Can Play Hoops Too

Dallas Baker is one of those guys you don't really classify by position, because he is what he is -- a terrific athlete.
Baker put his talents on display last Friday night at the Boys Club Tournament in New York City, where he helped Northfield Mount Hermon nearly upset Worcester Academy in the semis.

A 6-3 high riser who leaks out on the break and finishes in transition, Baker is also an effective rebounder for his size.
According to NMH Head Coach Bill Batty, Baker has been offered a scholarship in football by Florida. But after Friday, he had spurred interest from a pair of East Coast basketball programs -- Rutgers and Manhattan.
Baker confirmed he has committed to Florida. "I committed to them last year," Baker said. "Right now I am interested in playing football."
Baker can run the 40 in 4.4 seconds. "I am just focusing on my academic work now," he said.
Baker is working on boosting his academic credentials this year at Northfield Mount Hermon. The Insiders Report/rivalshoops.com plans to catch the Hoggers in action again this season, and we will provide you with another update on Baker in the near future, so stay tuned.
