Hassan Fofana, a 6-9, 260-pound center from Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, has cut his list down to six, according to head coach Mike Preston. "Connnecticut, Virginia, Maryland, Purdue, Memphis, and St. John's are on the list," Preston said. "He might take his next visit to St. John's."
The weekend being discussed is October 19th for the St. John's trip. Fofana has already visited Maryland. "He had a great time," Preston said. "He liked the campus, the coaches and players. He has an offer from them. Maryland is certainly at the top of the list with St. John's."
Preston told us he wasn't sure when the next trip would be after the St. John's visit. "That's up to Hassan," Preston said. "I think he might take at least one, maybe two more. He has said before he wanted to take all five but I am not sure if that will happen. He wants to sign early."
Ohio State dropped out while other schools like Wisconsin, Cornell, Stanford, Boston College, Texas Tech, and Michigan did not make the final cut, according to Preston.
Fofana, who hails from West Africa, played this summer for the the Middlesex Magic. Fofana is an active and aggressive 260 pounder. He has great upside to his game and runs the floor hard all the time.
