Center
McComb, Mississippi
Class of 2003
ABCD Stats: 6.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.9 blocks, 48.9 percent from the floor
Performance: Many college coaches are intrigued by his size and frame. Jackie Butler is likely to have these same college coaches at his doorstep over the next year if he tones up his body and improves his ability to move down the floor.
At 6-10 and 236 pounds, the obvious problem in his defensive game is elevation. Only 1 block per game. But what is nice about his game is his willingness to bang and scrap inside for loose balls and rebounds. His game is five feet and in right as indicated by his only two missed on two tries from the three point line.
What Jackie Butler needs to do: Strengthen that upper body and frame. Get into a routine to help him become more agile and fluid. Jackie Butler is going to be highly recruited anyway but he has a chance to be a top 20 player if the physical situation is improved.
