Flyers nab second 2007 target

The Dayton Flyers landed a top 2007 target with the commitment of Chris Wright. Now the Flyers have added a second 2007 prospect to the fold with the commitment of 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward Devin Searcy of Romulus High School in Detroit.
"Devin took a visit yesterday to Dayton, and I think he was really impressed with the first rate facilities," said Coach Nate Otis of Romulus High School. "Dayton has done a great job recruiting him since about the middle of last season. (Assistant) Coach Billy Schmidt worked really hard recruiting Devin. They've been to a couple early morning workouts in the spring and were at all his AAU stuff. He just felt comfortable with the situation at Dayton."

Searcy also had offers from Charlotte, Xavier, Kent State and Wyoming. UNLV, Michigan and Iowa State were also expressing interest and planning to track Searcy during July.
Long, athletic and young, Searcy should only get better with work according to Coach Otis.
"Devin is super long and athletic," said Otis. "Just for pure length, he gives Dayton something they need. He's always working on his game, doing a lot of individual work. I think he has a chance to be really good. He's only 16 years old right now.
Searcy will attend the NIKE All American Camp and then suit up with The Family at the Nike Peach Jam.
