Floyd Selects A School

Stephen Floyd, an energetic 6-2, 170 pound shooting guard from Elkins H.S. in Houston, Tex., has committed to Texas-Arlington.
Floyd, who starred this past summer with the Houston Superstars Elite squad and was named MVP at the Rick Bolus High Potential Camp in early July, picked UTA after considering Arkansas-Little Rock.

"The big name schools, if I were to go there, I might have to sit for a year or two," Floyd explained. "I can go to UTA, play right away and kind of blaze my own trail."
Prior to the summer, Floyd had some pretty big name schools looking at him. For whatever reason, they elected not to pursue Stephen this fall.
A very quick player who is always on the attack on both sides of the ball, Floyd could be an impact player at the Southland Conference level. Assuming he gets a qualifying SAT score this fall (he's sitting at 790 now), he could be good to go in Arlington next fall.
