Florida St Looks At Top Talent In NY

Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton was in New York today to take a look at Oumar Sylla, a 6-6, 185-pound junior swingman from Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York (Long Island).
Sylla previously made an early decision and verbally committed to Valpariso. However, sources tell us that Sylla wants to open up his recruiting process.

Hamilton was on Long Island today to take a look at Sylla as well as some other top players on the Our Savior New American team. This particular team is one of the more talented in the country.
Under the direction of the Rev. Ron Stelzer, Our Savior New American has developed into a team that will be one of the best in the next couple of years.
"Valpo was involved with him for a long time."
Sylla had called Syracuse a while ago but the Orangemen nailed down a commitment from 6-7 junior Demetris Nichols.
Many other programs had also expressed interest in Sylla. Now that Sylla is open and a coaching change has happened at Valpo, his list might expand.
Sylla is a hard-working forward who is a very good rebounder and a streaky shooter. He has decent range on his jumper and is improving each game.
More on Hamilton's trip later on this site.
