Florida lands top 25 guard

As it turns out, Thursday ended up being a pretty big day for class of 2014 shooting guard Brandone Francis.
The 6-foot-5 rising senior at Jacksonville (Fla.) Arlington Country Day started the day off by debuting at No. 25 overall in the 2014 Rivals150.

Later on in the afternoon after making it back home from the Deron Williams/Kyrie Irving point guard skills academy, the high end four-star prospect ended his recruitment by committing to Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators.
Francis confirmed his commitment via text to Rivals.com and that he ended up with the Gators shouldn't come as a surprise. Florida has been considered the heavy favorite to land him for sometime and after the other rumored frontrunner Louisville picked up their third perimeter player on Wednesday, Francis looked to be a lock.
However, nobody could have expected the commitment to go down so quickly. No Gators fans or coaches will complain either. Francis is a tough, physical and skilled guard who can be a bruising scorer on the wing or a charismatic leader running the show.
Francis is the second highly ranked class of 2014 guard to go with the Gators. Earlier this spring, they landed the nation's No. 39 player in point guard Chris Chiozza.
