Florida International lands Memphis guard

As of Sunday night, Cedrick McAfee had never stepped foot on the campus of Florida Interational. But, he's Isiah Thomas' latest recruiting score after giving Thomas a verbal commitment during a Sunday in-home visit.
McAfee, the nation's #74 player in the class of 2011 said that things felt right when he and his family met with Thomas.

"Coach came to my house and we had a long talk about the school and what they are going to do with the program," McAfee told Rivals.com. "Me, my mom and my sister just agreed that it was the right fit for me."
An athletic 6-foot-3 guard out of powerhouse Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose, McAfee says that he'll get a chance to play both the point and on the wing at FIU.
He's also sold on his future head coach's NBA experience and believes that Thomas will get the most out of him.
"I know how he coaches and he makes players better," said the four-star combo guard. "We're going to try and be a real up and coming program and I know he can do it with us."
McAfee has yet to set his official visit with FIU but says that his mother and Thomas should have a date finalized within the next few days.
