Florida Big 8 Tournament
Here are the results from the first day of the Broward County Athletic Association Boys Big 8 Basketball Tournament.

In the first game, St. Thomas (22-4) was led by Matt Cenatus with 22 points. Nate Salley, who signed with Ohio State for football yesterday, pumped in 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Rashard Sullivan added 11 points. Ralph Pendergraph scored 19 points, including three 3-pointers, for Coconut Creek (18-8).
In the nightcap, Stoneman Douglas was led by Steve Cowherd's 24 points. Mike Arnold added 22 in the win.
On Friday, St. Thomas Aquinas will play the winner of tonight's Dillard/Western contest while Stoneman Dougles will meet the Stranahan/South Broward victor.
