Five-star to Ohio State

Thursday night ended up a very good one for Ohio State. Not only did the Buckeyes knock off Maryland, they landed a commitment from five-star guard JaQuan Lyle.

Sources confirmed to Rivals.com on Thursday night that Lyle committed to Thad Matta and the Buckeyes shortly after the game while in Columbus for his official visit.
Originally a member of the class of 2014 who ranked No. 24 nationally before signing with Oregon, the 6-foot-5 guard is currently spending a prep school year at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy.
A highly skilled player with a top notch basketball IQ, Lyle is one of those players who beats others with his skill instead of athleticism. He is strongly built, moves defenders around the floor and is a high end passer.
As a shooter, Lyle is a bit streaky but he is a very clever and versatile scorer off the dribble thanks to an assortment of floaters, pull-ups and the ability to score through contact that he has in his bag of tricks.
With Lyle in the fold, Ohio State's recruiting class has grown to five. He joins four-star center Daniel Giddens, four-star guards Austin Grandstaff and A.J. Harris to go along with four-star small forward Mickey Mitchell.
