Perhaps the cut wasn't as deep as most people would prefer, but nonetheless a cut has been made.
Julius Randle of Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian has cut things down a bit as he promised he would do.
Currently ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the class of 2013, the 6-foot-9 power forward is now down to 10 schools.
Per a text message, Randle informed Rivals.com that he is down to Baylor, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, N.C. State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas.
Randle also indicated that he has set up his first official visit. The five-star forward will trip to Gainesville on Oct. 6 when the Gators play host to LSU in football.
That weekend is looking to be a big one for the Gators. They'll likely have five-star commitments Kasey Hill and Chris Walker on hand. To go along with Randle, it's also looking as if five-star shooting guards Isaac Hamilton and Keith Frazier will visit on that weekend as well.
As he's been indicating for some time now, Randle has no leaders and will make his decision in the spring.
