One of the most highly anticipated announcements from the class of 2017 is finally in and five-star Collin Sexton has picked Alabama.

The 6-foot-1 scoring machine from Mableton (Ga.) Pebblebrook made his decision public during a Thursday announcement on ESPN.

"Next year I'll be going to Alabama," said Sexton. "I felt like Coach Avery Johnson is a great coach and everybody down there had great energy and the communication was great."

Explosive and competitive, Sexton is simply as good a scorer as there is in the class of 2017.

It all starts with his aggressive nature and his way-above-average first step. Sexton is one of those guys who is always putting pressure on the defense to find a way to stay in front of him. Combine that with a very creative offensive style and you have somebody that is a load to handle.

Play him for the drive, though, and he'll eventually burn you with the jump shot. If what he does translates to college -- we're betting it does -- we're talking about a kid who will develop into an instant fan favorite.

With Sexton in the fold, Avery Johnson and Alabama stand on the precipice of a historic recruiting class. Sexton joins four-star prospects Alex Reese and Herb Jones and three-star center Galin Smith as commitments and they are the heavy favorites for No. 30 ranked John Petty who makes his choice this evening. If they land Petty, they'll have their best recruiting class of the Rivals.com era.
